BOAT - CLASS RULES
The
Union Internationale Motonautique -
UIM - is the world governing body for power
boats, racing, offshore, aquabike, pleasure navigation
and radio control. The following is an extract:-
RULE
No. 591 Electric Propelled Boats
591.01
- Electric propelled boats are accepted as International
series.
591.02
- These boats are not intended to race, though they can
attempt World Records.
591.03
- Electric - The whole of the energy required shall be
stored and carried on board. While the boat is
being timed over the measured distance no external
addition of energy shall be permitted and no addition to the stored energy shall be permitted from an
internal combustion engine carried on board.
591.04
- The hull is free.
606.06
- In speed records, the time elapsing between the two
runs must not exceed 20 minutes or the attempt is not
valid.
These
rules were approved and adopted on the 11th March 1989.
