SEACLEANER TRAWLER S.A. presents its new Solar Boat under the brand name of SOLEMAR.
Galileo: "Without oil ... and nevertheless it moves"
SOLEMAR, with an advanced system of Solar Technology, has created a boat propelled exclusively by solar energy, establishing a difference with the electric boats with solar support. By means of an elaborated process the transformation of photovoltaic solar energy is optimized in electrical energy, which is accumulated in gel batteries which provide independence fortimes when the sun is not shining. An efficiency of 92 % is claimed.
The materials and construction minimise displacement, so maximising efficiency at the maximum authorized speeds (5 knots) for the navigation of passengers' ships in interior waters. Safety has been fundamental to the project and construction of these boats. They are virtually unsinkable due to closed cell foam, which in case of collision would keep the vessel afloat. The foam also features a fire retardant gel coating.
When
the oil has long gone, these boats will still be sailing and
will have saved a small fortune in fuel costs. Solemar estimates a saving of 110 oil tankers, and 120 tons of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. For those reasons, SOLEMAR has come into existence - a boat that begins a new generation of vessels.
