We have been alerted to a case where Tiscali UK Limited do not appear to know if they have been paid for providing a service or not!

It appears Tisclai may be in breach of contract, where having charged for a service, then pulled the customers email facility, they are no longer providing the agreed level of service.  Tiscali refused to comment on this particular case until they'd had time to look at their files.

The fact is that the customer has paid Tiscali, but their collection department had forgotten to tell the service section.  As part of their collection policy, Tiscali blocked the customers email box then sent letters threatening a country court claims issue.

Naturally, this distressed the customer who reported the matter to us for investigation.  We have advised Tiscali accordingly and look forward to confirmation the customers email service has been restored.  In similar circumstances, BT make a friendly telephone call to customers to gently remind them and see if they can assist with any difficulties.  Tiscali would do well to learn from BT.

The lesson to be learned here is before signing up with Tiscali, make sure they give you contact numbers, telephone and fax.  Otherwise you could end up like the customer above, stranded and cut off, being pounded by worrying letters and without an email address to contact anyone.

You will be invited to phone in and wait in a never ending queuing system, all the while racking up telephone costs and making them richer.  You will be paying for their mistakes.  They will be laughing all the way to the bank.  It makes you wonder if they planned it this way!
