I read my first James Bond novel in 2011. it was Goldfinger. The plot was somewhat changed for the film, maybe for the better, but the character descriptions were stunning - especially that of Goldfinger himself.

As usual, Hollywood, has a way of correcting plots, to make them work. Flying aircraft with gold seat frames would not work. The plane would not be able to take off.
