Whenever I need a serious release from the weeks trudgery, I quite often head into Eastbourne's night club area for a boogie. We are fortunate in Eastbourne to have not only one of the best piers, a jolly good tennis venue and some passable theatres, we also have several nightclubs, of which TJ's was one of the best a few years ago. Sadly the layout has changed for the worse. Where there was once two levels, where the top floor was a good chill area, this is no longer the case. Instead both levels now have dance floors and different music playing, the quality of which depends on the DJ. It is all too easy for the operators to let standards drop. What the management often forget, is that people like to dance to good beats and mixes, when wasted and when still able to discern. The clue is when a floor is suddenly populated as the DJ finally plays something passable. There is no excuse for mediocrity. Fortunately, for most clubs, partygoers like to change venues now and again to ring the changes and meet new faces.
